About Gail Springer
Gail Springer is a lifelong performer and storyteller. She began her career at the age of five, singing and dancing on Albuquerque’s Dick Bills TV Show, and has since built a rich life in the arts as a singer, dancer, actress, pianist, teacher, and author.
She studied at Chicago’s Sherwood Music School and earned music degrees from the University of New Mexico. A certified Estill Voice Master Teacher, Gail taught at the College of Santa Fe for over three decades, where she developed and led one of the first undergraduate BFA programs in Music Theatre in the country. During her 36 years directing plays and musicals at the Greer Garson Theatre, she also performed as a soloist with numerous ensembles, including Desert Chorale’s Desert Voices, Canticum Novum, Pro Musica, Serenata of Santa Fe, and the Santa Fe Symphony. Her voice is featured on recordings with Serenata of Santa Fe and the Bruce Odland Big Band’s Crossover LP.
In recent years, Gail has turned her creative focus toward fiction. Her writing explores themes of transformation, memory, and the complexities of the human heart. She has published three works: Two Chambered Heart, Escape from Urfa, and Puma Stories.
Gail currently performs with her husband Pete Springer and guitarist Steve Hill, in the contemporary acoustic rock trio MONSOON, and continues to blend music and storytelling in both her writing and her performances.
